Hospital Radio Stafford has received a generous donation of £1,500 from local housebuilders Barratt Redrow, marking a significant boost to the station’s ongoing efforts to provide entertainment and companionship to hospital patients across Staffordshire.

The cheque was presented by Claire from Barratt Redrow to Colin Smith, Publicity Officer for Hospital Radio Stafford (HRS), in a moment of community spirit and shared purpose.

Colin expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the station:
“Hospital Radio Stafford relies heavily on private and business donations, as well as local fundraising by our volunteers. This community donation means a great deal to us and plays a vital role in helping us continue our service to hospital patients in Staffordshire.”

For decades, HRS has been a comforting presence within hospital wards, run entirely by dedicated volunteers who give their time and talents to brighten patients’ days through music, chat, and request shows.

A huge “thank you” goes out from everyone at Hospital Radio Stafford to Barratt Redrow for their support. Community backing like this ensures the station can keep doing what it does best — making a difference, one broadcast at a time.
